Yorledis lives with her stepfather, her brother and her mother Ledis Rodriguez who works as a street vendor in Cartagena. Some time ago the local doctors diagnosed her with a heart valve insufficiency. Since they could not afford the expenses, Yorledis could not be treated. When the Cardion Infantil doctors were in Cartagena she was checked in August 2010. A few weeks ago, Yorledis travelled to the Cardio Infantil hospital in Bogota for the necessary surgery and is now recuperating to return back home to a healthy life.
