Stirley lives with her family. Her mother Thairin is a housewife and her father a construction worker. At her birth she was diagnosed with a heart malfunction but the parents were unable to get the specialized medical assistance she needed at a reasonable cost. Through a local physician the mother was advised that the Cardio Infantil medical brigade was travelling to Barranquilla in June 2010. Stirley was treated free of charge and now enjoys a better quality of life.
